Bible Lesson

The lesson this morning was not as usual. My son and his wife came in to class. It was their first class since returning from their Honeymoon. We were the only three in class and Chuck came in - late. I spoke to him and he grunted back. He almost turned around and walked out. Later Stephen C. came in and then Alex M. and some others. I did not use the lesson I had planned - because it was so late when the majority of the class arrived.

We talked about a girl from our city (Jeff & Kathy's child) that was about their age that passed away on Friday. I told them about seeing the Obituary in the Times and on the same page another girl about their age had won an award. We talked about how people are at different stages of life and something Randy O. had once said people are either 1. going into a storm 2.) in the middle of a storm 3.) coming out of a storm.

We also talked about Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

A Time for Everything

1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
